Another buy that mostly went under the radar, was Medi Assist Healthcare Services, who bought a majority stake in Mayfair We Care.
To be honest we had not heard of either of them before.
Medi Assist Healthcare Services bought control of Mayfair We Care, a UK based healthcare administration service provider with presence across the world.
The partnership will allow Medi Assist to expand offerings for its customers beyond India and provide global access to medical benefits and health plan administration.
The logic is that Indian corporates are expanding internationally and with international travel on the rise, demand for international health insurance is witnessing tremendous growth.
With this new alliance Medi Assist aims to provide services beyond Indian borders.
The deal is not going to make huge waves in the market but is a timely reminder that it is not just Western companies that send people abroad.
