At approximately around 06.30 local time on Saturday 7 October, conflict broke out between Gaza Strip-based militants and Israel. The conflict has been claimed by the Palestinian Militant group Hamas. In addition to firing rockets into Israel, Gazan militants also staged gun fire in Sderot (Southern district). A militant infiltration of this scale is unprecedented in Israel. 23:00, September 18th, 2023 and a magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit 44 miles southwest of Marrakech, Morocco. Several aftershocks have been felt, with the strongest reported at magnitude 4.9.
